Return Policy?

I keep searching for any potential info on a return policy but come up short. I don't know much about cell phone contracts but 'I think' AT&T is 30 days (or it's a law?). And Apple is 14 days....

Can anyone venture to guess what the return policy on the phone will be and what restocking fee there might be? My husband's only concern is the speed of EDGE (he has 3G now).

Basically, if one gets the phone AND signs up for the AT&T plan and finds one can't tolerate it, what do you think the return option/scenario would be?
While 'I' feel the iPhone is a no-brainer and will work wonderfully (they keyboard too), I imagine there'll be people who are so used to their old smartphones (esp. the keyboard) that they'll try the keyboard for 20 minutes and give up on the 'getting used to it' part.... What will these types be able to do here?

I would presume you have a 14 day return policy or the 30 days try it and if you hate it then exchange it. However, why not call Cingular/ AT&T?

The return policy at cingular is 30 days. If you choose to return it, you'll be refunded the full cost of the phone, but will be charged for the useage on the phone up to that point. There is no restocking fee but the phone must be returned in new condition with all included parts and the original box, which cannot have been defaced in any way (no clipping the barcode for rebates, etc.)

After 3 days, the activation fee is nonrefundable. The total charges when I returned my BB after a week were $68.07. It's an expensive trial period.

Jessica - I didn't call AT&T because I feel it would be futile. Even if they tell me something, I can't believe it. Just trying to get a rought gleaning on returning if bought at Apple.

Feel - so that price you paid is the activation fee and a week's worth of use. OK.

Now I wonder what Apple's policy will be for those who didn't buy/activate the AT&T service on it. Say if one wants to see if they can deal with the keyboard, buy it, bring it home, and find they can't. Maybe one should assume a restocking fee here? I guess no one knows...
But what would the restocking fee be? 15%? 20%?
