Well, this is disappointing. Snagged a 5th gen iPad Pro 128 GB WIFI on Friday, didn't really have a chance to use it a lot on Friday, just set it up and let it be, was more interested in the new Apple TV 4K.

Decided on a whim to switch to light mode on Saturday before I started to use it and right away noticed several black dots on any screen, particularly in Safari on white backgrounds. At first I thought it was dust but quickly realized the pixels were DOA, ran some tests and used some pixel test videos and websites, confirmed pixels were not working. I wish I could say I could live with them but they were all along the left and right side of the screen, visible on pretty much any website.

Booked an appointment with the Genius Bar, got a call before my appointment that they would return and replace for free and they had stock, awesome. Unfortunately, that was incorrect, they had no stock, forced to return and they basically told me to order a replacement online, now delivering into July. And of course, sold my old iPad Pro last Thursday.

Very disappointed Apple kept zero stock to replace units, I had a problem with an iPhone X on the day after launch and they had a replacement for me on day 1, and that product was way more popular. The guy even said if he ordered a replacement, yeah, I would get in within the week but that unit would only have a 3 month warranty.

Just a warning to all - check your screens for dead pixels. I used this site and it really highlighted them on the red and green backgrounds.
