Typing this with my old IBM Thinkpad and missing my iPad. I purchased the wifi for the wife, but she now wants the 3G. I have two on order, a 32 and 64. The 64 is of course for myself.

I know I will probably get a (you created a tread just to tell everyone that you returned it) but I don't care. I miss it, and I thought I would let you all know. I find myself reaching for the Thinkpad's screen as though its the pad.

I can relate. My 5 year old is using mine now, and I had to use my Mac Mini to read email, check MacRumors, write this, etc. Two weeks ago I was debating getting an iPad, and now I'm thinking I need a second one (with 3G) so the kids can use one. And yes, they use it for educational apps/games.

My advice is to not use a computer for the next two weeks. Now that I have been using my iPad for two weeks, it would be tough to use anything else regularly and be satisfied with it.

My once fun iPhone doesn't seem that fun anymore.

I actually find my iPhone to feel even better than before now. It's an odd feeling.

My iPhone is the only thing thats getting me by (engadget ect. until the 3g shows up), but typing in a thread is just to much for the phone.

Origin

From Alfred Lord Tennyson's poem In Memoriam:27, 1850:

I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.

I held off for a 3G and never had the iPad (except for store demos). So consider yourself lucky..."Than never to have loved at all." ;)

Have you sought out any professional help for your iPad withdrawal yet? Reminds me of the 90's when the OJ Simpson Trial ended.

No. The iPhone is keeping my sanity in check. When I start to withdrawl, I just pull out the phone and all is better.:p Its just that everything is so much bigger, faster and just more enjoyable in every way on the Pad. Oh poor me!:)

Same here.

I returned mine on Thursday to wait for 3g or to see if I really need the iPad.

Two nights and I can't wait to get it again with 3g.

It proved that it served a purpose for me.

i havent missed mine so much. there are times when i wish i had it, but i carry my laptop at almost all times when i am at school, and missed how easy it was to take notes with and have everything i need with me. im still undecided on getting the 3g, holding out for the slate, or getting a mb pro. ill probably end up getting a tablet and the 13 incher pro, but it would be nice to have that 5-900 for a 15 inch macbook.

I agree. I thought the iPad was so much better than the iPhone, but now the iPhone feels small (in a good way) and new. It makes me like the iPhone even more (and I didn't think that was possible).

Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz or Dr. Oprah would say it's unhealthy to love the iPad and iPhone like we do.........I say the heck with that thought!!!!!! Both are pretty amazing devices if you ask me. Where were these things 15 years ago?

I said the same to the wife and I was telling a friend that I have no buyers remorse. If I miss the pad this much, it was a good purchase and well worth the money.

I wonder if the folks at Apple are second-guessing the decision to stagger the releases of the two iPad models by a month. Doesn't make sense to create a situation that promotes returns.

I think it was more deliberately so that people's reviews of the iPad would be very positive, instead of facing potential issues with AT&T's 3G service.

I had planned to return the Wifi but I like it so much that I think I'll just get a 3g too (and give the Wifi to my wife if I don't use it as much), so by staggering the release they got an extra sale from me.
