Ok I have a jailbroke iphone 3G that I need to return to Apple because the headphone jack has stopped working. I have tried 3 different sets of headphones and none work. So if I restore to new iphone using DFU is there anyway apple will be able to see the iPhone was jailbroke before. I have heard something regarding the baseband in the 2.2 update allowing apple to see that your iPhone had been prevoiusly jailbroke. Anyone hear anything like that?

Thanks just wanted to make sure there wasn't some new steps I needed to do since 2.2 before I restore and return to apple.
Just remember that Mac OS X 10.5.6 update may disable iPhone's ability to restore-->DFU, so I've attached another thread for you just in case:

Thanks but I'm on windows so I shouldn't have any problems restoring in DFU.
Sounds good. My son's 3G iPhone had the same problem and the exchange took about 10 minutes, including waiting in line...
