I'm currently in the process of returning an iMac but based on these forums, I think the chances of getting a perfect model quite unlikely whether it's due to more hard drive faults or perhaps a screen issue. :(

I was wondering (specifically in the UK) what the policy is if the replacement itself is faulty? Must I accept a repair or am I entitled to a new unit?

Part of the reason I ask is because I'll be away when the replacement arrives so I won't get the chance to test it for maybe a week after delivery. I'd rather not get it "repaired" for a number of reasons and I'm wondering what sort of time frame I have.

Thanks.

EDIT: I opted for the iPod and printer rebate meaning if that I did get a refund rather than repair/replacement, I'd not be eligible for the rebate. Post edited accordingly.

I am wondering this as well. Especially since I will probably be buying a refurbished unit from the apple website and have it shipped to me here in Thailand. Thus, the 14 day will be long gone by the time I get it.

What happens after the 14 days?

The 14 days start on the day the shipment arrives not when you place your order.

Thanks, but I forgot to mention that i use an APO address. And since Apple doesn't ship directly to APOs, I have to have it shipped to an APOBox address, who will then turn around and ship it to my APO address. Thus, Apple will consider the 14 clock to start once they deliver it to the APOBox address which is in the US. Getting from the US to Thailand via APO mail will certainly take longer than the 14 days...

Hence, my question, what happens after 14 days?

...your stuck...wait until the PX gets them in stock... APObox shipping is expensive with the postal rates going up all the time!

That's what I figured... decisions, decisions. As we have an Apple Reseller here that has the new ones but no refurbished obviously.

Thanks.
