i just recently purchased a brand new sealed 2011 top of the line 15" macbook pro i7 2.3, high res with apple care and receipt for $2100 Canadian from a private seller who got it as a gift and less than 14 days when he sold it to me.

So here is my story, im not really a laptop user but for that price i went and bought it. but anyways, the MBP is beautiful (compared to my dell laptop) fast and quiet but there is only one thing that i dont like about MBP "Apple's laptop" is the fact that the battery is internal and u cant leave the MBP plugged in all the time coz it will ruin the battery life...as a heavy user i cant monitor my battery all the time specially when im in the middle of my project.

Bottom line of this stupid story of mine is i decided to return the MBP but i was hesitating if they will let me do it coz it was private sale and the receipt its not under my name but i went and tried it......after explaning my self the told me the person who helped me said YES they can do a refund but not cash but as a store credit which is $3060....now i made $960 profit that i will use towards mac pro or the next iMac refresh.

For those people who have the same situation like mine...the answer is YES. you can return it and get a store credit as long as you're on or under that 14 days return policy.

Are you sure this isn't just a bragging thread about how you made nearly a grand? lol Because that is what it seems like to me

no im not bragging about it. this thread i made is for those people who have the same situation like mine and been looking the same question but cant find no answer anywhere. trust me i was looking the for an answer all over the web and there is none. i apologize if you feel that way...im not here to discriminate or hate..my main concern that time was to get a store credit for what i paid for but instead gave me more than what i expected.

Dont believe a word of this as the original owner would have just returned it to get a full refund instead of selling it on loosing nearly 30%.

Im not to here to make you guys believe me, I'm here to help people who have the same situation like mine. The guy who sold it to me got the MBP as a gift and the receipt is not under his name as well and I'm thinking that he want the cash instead of the store credit.

Ur entitled for your own opinion. I already made many by accident so I don't give a rats ass of what you think. so keep hating coz that's all you can do.

I've done something similar (was within my family), so I believe it.

Having the same last name on the receipt might have helped, but I didn't actually get the idea that they looked at it at all. They were more concerned on whether or not the box had been opened.
