Just a quick poll since I see a lot of posts by 1.6 owners where a significant portion does seem to be line free compared to 1.8 where most seems to have them. 1.6 is probably a later batch but I can live with a 1.6 and upgrade later to SSD if that gives me a high probability for a perfect screen! :D

Do you own a 1.6 Rev B and do you have lines on your screen?

Thanks

Don't own one, but I've seen 3 new Rev B 1.6 models at 3 different stores and all had the lines.

Yes 1.6/120 with lines but it is in the trash now (back to where it came from).

Closed thread (Just curious if the screen issue has been fixed)

sorry for posting slightly OT - but I am mad!

I am just curious why the thread had been closed, actually I am kind of mad. No, this issue has not been resolved. First, I had contact with Apple PR people over here in Europe. They were admitting that there is a problem that Apple is aware of. Second, I checked a whole batch of five units today that had been shipped just a few days ago. And yes they still have lines and they still have the issue - also the reseller saw the problem (they still have fine rev A. models on display). So why the hell are you closing a thread where people discuss their problem. Even if this is subjective thats what forums are for - there was not much flaming, swearing or what so ever... So who is responsible for that?

I have to agree with you - why close the thread that is simply discussing an issue? Regardless of what you think about the lines, people should be allowed to discuss their opinions.

I would be very interested to see the reason for closing the thread. Anyone wanna own up?

I think it was closed due to the fact that the line-free gang are messing things up lol :D

At the end, no matter how much we say or show, Apple will never consider our problems since they are not going to read these threads.

In addition, we can always open new threads and make it harder for the mods to close them :p

One way to have Apple reconsider and fix this issue is stop buying their MBA and return every defective unit for a refund. However, there are many people who are almost blind to see the lines and think that we are SEEING things lol.

Wow, moderator is one of those who just can't stand the criticism (which actually is just information exchanged about the problem by those who care) and closed it? Time to replace moderators too than just the laptop. (Oh, did I just close this too?)

Sooo disappointed!

Just came back from the Apple store and the new 1.6 Rev B actually had a worse screen then the 1.86 SSD version!
I noticed eye strain after just a few minutes...

The MBP starts looking better and better if Apple dont get their act together. Problem is I was looking forward to a smaller computer to lag around.
