Rev B overheating

Hey guys, I've had a Rev B (1.6, SSD) since last november. It's been running fine until recently when it seems to be having some of the problems that the Rev A's had - CPUs maxing out while watching video, heating up more (going over 80C, which it rarely did before), fans more often going to max.

I tried to install the latest version of coolbook but I don't think it may be compatible with either the latest OS X update, or with some other software update.

I'm also wondering if the issues have anything to do with the little MacBook Air SMC Firmware Update 1.1 that I recently installed.

So, my question is, does anyone know how to roll back or undo those updates?

Also, anyone having similar issues with their Rev B?

I've got everything up to date and I didn't experience any changes. Regarding your SMC, make sure that your fan isn't being forced to remain at the low 2400rpm speed. Can't really think of any other reason...

And coolbooks should work fine with all the latest updates; for rev B's 1.6 you'll only see adjustments for 1.6 and 800mhz.

Great choice! I really like the SSD, never thought I would care that much but the silence is awesome!

I definitely agree that the rev B MacBook Air is at least $1000 overpriced.

That doesn't mean I would not pay double the price for my rev B MacBook Air. It doesn't matter to me that it only costs Apple a fraction of the price to make it that they charge us for it. Value is different than the price/cost. So, to me I value my MacBook Air so much that I will pay whatever for it as long as I have the money to do that.

Resources are the true way to value something. If we have the money, we often are willing to pay whatever the price for something we want even if on paper it seems foolish. Someone like my mom would say I am crazy for paying $2500 for a computer, as she only paid $400 for her Dell desktop computer with 20" flat panel display. To her, a computer that costs more than $400 is waste. To us, it's the price we pay for something we want. We know it doesn't make sense on paper, it's the way it makes us feel to work on our Macs. We appreciate the value more so than we care about the price.

Thinking back to economics class and utility... marginal utility... opportunity costs... ha ha.

I thought I read somewhere that coolbook doesn't work on Nvidia machines...eg rev B...Can someone verify this for me? Thanks.

new version of coolbook works.

that, coupled with blowing out the vents and dumping a bunch of crap from the computer have brought it back to cool levels. thanks for the advice y'all.
