Revert any iPad 2 to iOS 6 without jailbreak

This literally took me 10 minutes total. I can't believe how fast it was. Am I missing something here? Have people known about this?

Also, is iOS 8.4.1 just as good performance wise as iOS 6? It gives me the option to upgrade to that if I choose.

Eh, forget it. The YouTube app won't even work, no FaceTime, and you can't update to iOS 8.4.1 after all.

I think this is great. If it makes the iPad 2 relatively zippy again for Internet browsing, why not just keep it on IOS 6? I’m guessing the main issue is finding apps like YouTube from that era that are compatible.

If you want to use YouTube on iOS 6, you have to edit the .plist file to allow compatibility. https://www.cydiageeks.com/change-version-iphone-apps-firmware.html

The problem is that the web browser won’t have received any modern updates or plugins, and so it will crash often when it has trouble rendering any recently redesigned site.
