iPhone Reverting Back To Regular iOS

How hard is it to revert back to regular iOS if you jailbreak your iPhone? I hear stories of people getting bricked .

I believe if you simply do a restore, you should be fine.

You mean you want to erase your jailbreak? If so, just plug your phone in to iTunes and hit restore. Easy.

i had to do it once to update the iOS.


its really hassle-free.


as others have said just plug into itunes and hit restore. it will erase all your data and install the latest firmware.

I never heard any stories of people getting bricked after trying to restore.

People get bricked because they install everything they find without worrying about compatibilities and/or from suspicious sources, a.k.a pirated apps.

You are either hearing wrong or listening to the wrong people.

The fact you started this thread means you should not be jailbreaking anything. Stick with stock iOS.

And an iPhone cannot get "bricked" (n00b term) except in the case of sudden hardware failure.

That term is perpetuated as it is posted and reposted by n00b after n00b after noob after ....

Please please do your homework on what jail-breaking is about and what the pro's and con's are.

Also learn on how to fix possible glitches.

I just restored my iPhone 5 from 6.1.2 JB to 6.1.3. No hassle. I saw threads on people have boot problem after restore in iTunes on their device. So I though it could have been a tweaks file in a backup of some sort so I ran iLEX R.A.T before restoring so I can get rid of the JB as much as I can before I backup and restore.
