[review] Incase Magnetic Snap Case for the new iPad

ill make this short and sweet.

picked up the Incase Magnetic Snap Case from bestbuy last night. at $40, its not exactly a cheap back cover, but hey...

its pretty slim, has a nice feel to it, and adds just a bit of welcome bulk to the ipad. the 2 magnets on the back are a very nice addition as it allows me to put the smart cover out of the way.

corners are somewhat protected, but i wouldnt trust this with severe impact protection - this is more for scratch protection (which is a bit late as i have a 2" long scratch on the back of the ipad already )

the only negative that i found so far is that the rightmost metal plate is aligned in a way that makes the SC hinge skew to the left a bit. i have to always pull it tight to make it comfortable if i am holding it with my left hand.

overall, this is a nice case that caters to the crowd that uses a smart cover but doesnt want it to be locked for easy removal.

The one BIG reason I like this case over all other Smart Cover compatible mag snap cases is for its two magnetic strips vs one on all other(?) mag. snap back case units, affording the ability to position the iPad at an ideally optimal slightly higher viewing angle for navigating and viewing while seated at a table, as imho, the lowest Smart Cover angle position is too low and the highest too high for this. My only very minor complaint is the Incase Mag Snap doesn't offer full back coverage. That said, I've returned all previously purchases Smart Cover cases and keeping the Incase one. This one's the winner for me.

I can achieve that mid position pretty easily without a second magnet. The last flap bends inwards towards the hinge; friction from microfiber on the back holds it in place.

I have one of these currently and it's my second one. The first got returned to Incase because one of the metal strips came unglued (from being pulled at by Apple smart cover magnets). Second one did the same thing so I reattached with 3M spray adhesive. The corners are now starting to develop cracks as well. There are much better cases out there than this one for $40.
