About:

The Skadoosh Mini is an innovative stand that combines adjustability, portability, stability and good looks. A simple push-button lock holds your iPad Mini at just about any angle. Made from a solid piece of aluminum, machined by CNC this is a solid stand built to last.

First Thoughts:

These stands have intrigued me with their solid build and tons of angles. I've had my eye on them for some time now, but have since stopped when I moved to the iPad mini. So I was very happy when I heard that Jadu-Industires has released a version that will in fact work with the iPad mini.

Upon unboxing, right away I could feel the solid build of this stand. This stand is pretty straight forward it is a stand after all. The iPad mini fit nicely, The plastic and padding will prevent any scratches. The movement of the bar which the back of you mini rests on works like a ratchet letting you lock in any angle you like.

I will admit I was a bit worried about the stands foot print. It held firm on any surface I used it on, including soft ones like a couch or bed.

Features:

  • Multiple angles
  • Landscape or Portrait
  • Portable
  • Firm, but gentle, Grip
  • In black or Glossy silver

Final Thoughts: (after a week of use)

After using this the Skadoosh mini for a week I have no doubt found a new favorite stand. Now if I only had one in every room. So I don't have to carry it back and forth that would be great. With that being said I did find one draw back in using the iPad mini itself with this stand. It seems with the iPad mini's new design the curvature of the edges prevents you from grabbing the iPad mini it self and adjusting the angle. This is not a deal breaker for me since the iPad mini is so small it's easy to grab the side of the iPad mini and the back bar with one hand and adjust the angle.

I have always liked the concept and operation of this stand, however the price is just ridiculous.

i've bought a few stands in the past belkin etc..

Jadu claims that you can just upgrade the arm later when a newer ipad is released, which is kinda cool.
I don't know exactly how this works. But not having to buy a whole new unit is nice.

This stand is compact but there are others out there better suited for travel.
But if you need a solid stand I haven't seen anything better.

This is a super cool stand and all but for $70 before shipping thats just silly.

I picked up this stand when it was just $50, and it was one of the best purchases I have made for my iPad. Very sturdy and actually changes the angle to one that is very comfortable to type on.
