For a company that only sells waterproof cases, you'd think they'd have the perfect solution by now. The Nuud series, as many others have posted about, is one of the most anticipated waterproof cases for each iPhone launched simply due to the screen being completely accessible.

I got my hands on the iPhone 6 version and put it through some tests. Overall as a waterproof case, it does the job, I didn't find any hiccups in it's ability to keep my iPhone safe, nor were there any leaks.

Unfortunately, using it on a daily basis is not the best. Though it's very minimal for a waterproof case, the sharp and edgy(?) edges make it almost painful to hold during normal usage. It gets worse when you try to swipe down for the notification centre or up for the control centre, since the screens cutout is precisely matching the iPhones. Sometimes the swipes don't get recognized because your fingers aren't hitting the edge properly due to the bevel.

Audio quality is definitely noticeably degraded, but that's expected with all the ports and jacks covered up.

All in all, this, and most waterproof cases, are occasional cases - meaning it's used only for a specific purpose. If you're going to a water park or in the pool, it's fun to make underwater slo-mo videos. Otherwise, it's really not worth the hassle of using it on a daily basis, especially at over $100.

Check out the full gallery of images I took over on our Facebook Page (link in the bio), I've included some below as well!

The audio quality was for sure pretty horrible with this case IMO. The funny thing is that the new Fre Power doesn't have any audio quality issues what so ever nor does it have the charger door issue. This just goes to show that LifeProof knows what the are doing; possibly just rushed the Nuud case. Hopefully the fix the issues.

Totally jealous you got your hands on it. I'm excited to compare the Fre Power to the Mophie H2PRO. I've never used the original Fre cases, but it looks like the screen protector actually just covers up the front camera audio area, so I'm surprised to hear you say the audio quality is not affected.

I was pretty surprised myself. I couldn't get a good picture but when my warranty replacement comes in I'll try and get one for you of the little plastic piece that I believe glued or heat pressed into the screen protector. What ever it is it allows the sound to travel through without a problem.
