Hi..

i am planning to buy the MBP in a couple of days time..
Should i get the new one or stick to the old one.. i mean is the LED screen and SR worth .. thanks a lot.. this is my 1st mac so plz help me out.

Thanks

Of course it all depends on what your going to use to computer for to decide if your going to spend more on the new MBP or the older versions. If you need it for video performance then the newer one sounds much better - and comes with standard 2gb or ram which you can upgrade to 4gb in the future. The older ones "only" update to 3gb. However if your going to just use your computer for everyday internet, email, etc. then maybe the older versions (which still are great!) would work for you.

and how have the LED screeens helped.. is it actaully good. i mean except for better batery life does it offer anythin new

If your budget

allows, I would go for the new one. (although you can probably save a decent amount)

I purposely waiting several months to get the updated MBP. If you can get a terrific deal on the previous model MBP C2D, and don't think you'll ever want 4GB RAM, won't have any applications that could benefit from a faster Front Side Bus, and if you don't have any desire to play graphic intensive games or use software like Photoshop, do any video editing, or any other application that can benefit from a more powerful video card, then the previous model MBP is still a better laptop than most.

No doubt there are people on here who have posted about their experiences with trying to make the exact same decision you're struggling with, so take a gander and maybe they'll come up with a viewpoint you or any of us who have responded haven't thought of just yet.

i think ill go for the new one... the latest is generally always better..thanks...as i plan to use it for atleast 3 yrs.. cant afford to change it before thaat...
