About a year and a half ago, I posted a poll here asking what Apple product contributed most to the company's financial turn around and run away success, helping to "save" the company from the oblivion it was falling into during the mid-late 90s.

As Apple's stock hits an all-time high, I thought it would be interesting to repost this question and see what difference a year and a half makes. I have a feeling the results are going to be very different this time around...

The iPhone and iPod touch have brought many new Mac users to the company. It's hard to say that without it, Apple would be where it is today, just like the iPod did a couple of years ago. The app store has also generated some cash.

It has to be the iPod/iPhone. This was the most affordable (read least expensive) product available to consumers. I know if I had bought an iPhone first then I would have bought a Mac next.

Wait a second, I did buy an iPod before I bought a Mac. It was a matter of 2 months before I needed a new notebook and looked at Macs.

without the imac, there would be no apple

without the ipod, there would be no iphone and music store

without the music store there would be no app store

without intel, people would still be drinking the kool aide and buying apple computers lol

imac gets my vote as the rest wouldnt have happened without it

however, it is the ipod that really made apple a house hold name

Before iPod. It had to be the first iMac. It sold really well I think. And of course the iPod later. But I owned a Mac before I owned a iPod. I had another MP3 player from a friend.. that didn't work on my new Mac.. so it was the perfect reason for me to get a iPod.
