I'm not sure if anyone here is into 3d nurbs modeling, but Rhino seems to be the software of choice among many architects and industrial designers doing 3d modeling lately.
While searching to see if a Mac version would be available I stumbled across a beta program they've set up.
I would encourage anyone with interest to sign up for it at http://community.irhino3d.com/
It's great to see a company recognizing the Mac community and it would be a great program to have available on the Mac.

:apple:

( the standard Rhino site is: http://www.rhino3d.com/ )

I'm beginning to take tentative steps into industrial design, so I just wanted to say thanks for the heads up on this. :)

Rhino for Mac is slowly making it's way to our machines. I use Rhino for Windows at work...well, sort of. I design jewelry, and there is a company that makes a sort of plugin that uses Rhino. They have no plans of porting to Mac with that though. Sad really. Anyway, I've been watching this whole Rhino for Mac thing for a while now (over a year or so, since they announced it) and I think it's a great thing!

I have used Rhino for Windows since its public Beta (1998?). Back then they were emphatic that they would never port to Mac.

Oh times have changed! :D:D I was extremely glad when they decided to port to OSX… Rhino being my bread-and-butter app so to speak.

I have been using the Mac Beta this past year(?). Almost stable enough for prime time I'd say…

Still a few issues — rendering is still dire… but great progress.

Good to see Rhino on OSX.
I'd love to see MoI (Moment of Inspiration) make the plunge also. The more the merrier. According to the dev that's not going to happen anytime soon though.

I've been using Rhino for mac recently as well

It's heading down the right track, but is not as smooth as the windows version yet.

Hopefully it'll be as good (better?) than the windows version in the end
