Hi all,
I have a major problem with my iPhone 5, jailbroken on iOS7.04.
1st off, in the last week or so, I've had terrible battery drain on my phone. A full charge will last me 4-4.5hrs. That's without 4g or location services on.

I've uninstalled most of my major tweaks (Auxo2, Apex2, AltKeyboard2, Activator, etc,) as well as my recently installed tweaks, and still the problem persists. This problem seems to have coincided with a problem with my gyroscope. If I'm playing video in Portrait "mode," and I tilt my phone into landscape, the video doesn't rotate to accommodate the bigger screen.
Finally, all of my app icons, apart from those in my dock, are constantly shaking, as if they were in wiggle mode, but without the "x" in the top corner. The only way to stop this is to switch "reduce motion" on, to stop the parallax effect, which suggests to me that my gyroscope is (somehow) going crazy, causing the icons to shake, and draining my battery.

Can anyone suggest any ways to fix this?
How can I start my phone with a clean, fresh jailbreak? Can I just re-download Evasi0n and jailbreak, "over the top" of my old Jailbreak? I don't mind reinstalling my freaks again

Thanks for your help.

Try to find out what tweak is causing the issue. If you really can't find the culprit, I would suggest installing iLEX R.A.T.; it allows you to delete all installed tweaks at once and it makes your device to the state it was right after you jailbroke. Something like restore but while keeping jailbreak. And no you can't just run Evasi0n again as that would need a clean iOS 7.0.x but you can't, as restoring would bring you up to i0S 7.1.1. I would simply install iLEX R.A.T. and do the restore.

Will iLEX RAT work ok on iOS7? I read something that said that it only works up to iOS6. Also, is it a difficult thing to do such a restore?

Thanks for your help.

There is an iOS7 version and it is not at all difficult to use.

Yes it will work on iOS 7. It is in beta though, but I used it like twice and never got any issues, so it seems to work very well. Only takes a little while too. Just make sure you download the right version (the specialist beta) and that you download it from the original repo (cydia.myrepospace.com/ilexinfo/).
No it's not very difficult to do, you need to know a few things though. First of all, iLEX R.A.T. works by terminal command, so make sure you either have MobileTerminal or OpenSSH (don't forget to change root password if you haven't) to open up the terminal of your iDevice. If you have installed iLEX R.A.T. you can simply enter the command 'Rat' and the process will start. I would suggest using OpenSSH for the terminal action (this is included in Mac software like iFunBox) to run the command rather than on the device itself with MobileTerminal, because it will delete the tweak MobileTerminal too in it's process, so I wouldn't take that risk to run it straight from the device. If you still need any help, feel free to ask me and if you want some good video tutorials, there are some on the official repo too.

You no longer need to run it through MobileTerminal, now it's a stand-alone app.

I know, but I still believe using a terminal command is way more reliable for an action like this. Certainly now that iOS 7.1.x isn't jailbroken yet, must the action fail. And the app itself is in beta anyway.

Thanks for your help guys. I ran through the restore and I'll see how the battery performs over the next few days. The Parralax/gyro problem seems to be solved :)

No problem, I hope all the issues will be gone now. :)

I spoke too soon. The Accelerometer problem is back and all the icons on my springboard are shaking like crazy. I've had to switch off all "motion" in the accessibility settings, to stop this.
Also, when watching a video, and rotating the phone, the format of the picture doesn't rotate automatically. The phone is also running pretty hot... I'm a bit frustrated by the whole thing, to be honest.

I was thinking of selecting the "Reset all settings" option in the General>Reset section. Would that be a good/bad idea?

This kinda sounds like it could be hardware related. Have you installed anything else?

Really? Damn. First of all, DON'T use reset all settings, as you're device is jailbroken it will put the phone in a boot loop. And once in a boot loop, the only way out is DFU restore with iTunes to 7.1.1 which means losing your jailbreak.

I suggest running iLEX restore again, and just do a couple of days WITHOUT installing any tweaks. If the problem won't happen again, it really is a reaction to one of the tweaks. Whether that tweak is a known one like Auxo or not doesn't matter. Then afterwards just install your favorite tweaks back, one by one, over some time, to find out which one's the culprit.
If the problem DOES show up again, even without installing any tweaks, restore the phone with iTunes to 7.1.1 and forget about the jailbreak. Solving a problem like this is alot more important than having a jailbreak.
And finally, if it would still happen under iOS 7.1.1, it will indeed be a hardware related problem, and in that case there's nothing more you can do than take it to the store for examination and repair.

P.S.: If I were you, I would immediately do the step of restoring to iOS 7.1.1, instead of running iLEX first, because this kind of problems outweigh having a jailbreak IMO. But that's up to you.

Reset settings should be okay if I remember correctly

Erase all content and reset settings is the one we shouldn't tap

Well, I bit the bullet and updated to 7.1.1 and...

IT MADE ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE!!!

If anything, the icons and the parallax wallpaper are shaking even more vigourosly. My compass app is going absolutely nuts, with the little red ball "rolling" all over the place and the second test is "flashing up" with every angle possible... I haven't seen this fault listed anywhere before... it's crazy!

If anyone is interested in seeing a video, let me know and I'll see if I can make a quick one.

It's obviously a hard wear fault so I'll be shipping it off the the Apple store on Monday... :)

Thanks for all your help!

Oh okay, I see.
I hope your device gets fixed soon.
You're welcome! :)
