I have a Dell E2318H monitor with VGA and Displayport inputs, and I want to connect it to my new MacMini 2018 intel, using one of the 4 thunderbolt/USB-C ports. For that I got an Unitek USB-C to DisplayPort cable that was supposed to support DisplayPort signal from USB-C/Thunderbolt3 to DisplayPort input, but the monitor does not detects any signal from the computer.

According to the vendor, the computer must support DP1.2 with AltMode, which MacMini 2018 supposedly does, but I found a couple of post online that says it doesn't (and the empirical evidence seems to support that).

So my question is for those of you that have this same configuration (DisplayPort monitor connected to a MacMini 2018 thru TB3 port), which cable/adapter should I get to make this work ?

TIA

Don't know anything about your monitor, but I've been using this Belkin cable to connect the Displayport of my 32" BenQ 2560x1440 monitor to the USB-C port of my 2018 Mini for over two years. Never any problems. No idea if there would be an issue with your screen however.

Thanks! The monitor works perfectly with my older MacMini late 2012, using a DP->MiniDP cable, so its not a monitor-related issue. I will check the cable you mention.
