OK maybe I am too new to figure this one but here goes. I was recently working with folders and I wanted to RIGHT click (CUT) an item but I could on RIGHT click (COPY) and I thought that was weird, but in like a text document I can right-click and copy/paste all day.

Is there any way to ADD items to the right-click menu or enable them in the settings under system prefs.

Just curious, or if there is an APP that I can buy or download that will allow me to add or remove items from right-click menu.

Thanks
Abdulah Mohamed

There is no "cut" option in Finder unlike in Windows Explorer. Copy is the only action. The key is when you go to "paste" the file to a new location, you have to hold down the option key when right-clicking to see the "move item here" option. But far easier than right-clicking is simply using command + c to copy and then command + option + v to paste (making the effect actually "cut and paste" since you're moving the file instead of copying/duplicating it . . . if you want to "copy and paste" instead, then simply press command + v without pressing the option key.

Though to answer the bigger question about the right click menu... there USED to be a freeware? utility called FinderPop that would let you add action items and menus to the right click (contextual) menu and have them show up anywhere you wanted to pop a menu up. This was pretty cool although I can't remember why I loved it so much/what I used it for. I thought someone came up with something like this for newer OS versions but don't know the name or if they work on Monterey/M1 Macs. Anyone?
