When I right click on desk-top folders or documents using an Apple mouse, I no longer see a drop-down list. However, if I use a hard-wired mouse, I get the drop-down as usual. Any ideas, please?

What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far? Have you unpaired and re-paired it? Is it fully charged?

Many thanks to all. I've obviously got a lot to learn. Anyway, the solution lay, as Apfelkuchen suggested, in System Preferences; The box had not been ticked. I had not used the Apple mouse to any great extent, previously, as my previous Mac came with a wired mouse, which I continued to use with this current machine. From now on, I shall be using this Apple mouse full time.
