Since perusing the thread on this subforum about ringontes, i set a new message alert tone up to be the ICQ sound (thanks whoever uploaded it).
However, everytime i get an alert instead of going "oh-oh", the sound i get out is "oh; oh-oh".
It's like it has started to play the sound, but then it plays it again when it hasn't finished playing.

I've googled and the only thing i can see is the option in the settings for missed alerts > play twice and i've got this set to none.
The sound itself is ok as i have played it though itunes to check it.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have this same issue with text messages all the time. I use the Sherwood Forest so I hear it start, stop then repeat fully all in like 4 seconds. It's annoying as heck!

That has nothing to do with your problem (that setting is for how often to repeat the alert after 2 minutes). The 'stuttering' you get on your alerts is a bug in iOS 5. Hopefully, Apple will fix it in the 5.1 update.
