So I was browsing through some ringtones in the iTunes Store and bought one. In the preview it was really loud which I liked. I went to set it as my default ringtone and its much quieter. Not a whole lot but noticeable enough for me to make a post about it. I was wondering if anyone has run into this issue or if it's normal. Is there a way to fix it and have it sound louder like the preview?

might be stating the obvious here, but its not just because you have the ringer volume set different form the media volume

pressing the volume buttons when playing music shows the media volume control, pressing the volume buttons when no media (or game/app sounds) are playing will show the ringer volume ... they are different

however I think this might depend on how you have the 'adjust with buttons' or something set in settings > sounds

Do you have "Sound Check" enabled in Settings>Music?
Nope.

Ringer and media volume are always max. I have "change with buttons" turned off as well.
[doublepost=1484253406][/doublepost]This change in volume I've always noticed on every iPhone I've ever had. I know it's not just me. Go on and try it. Listen to a ringtone in the iTunes Store app, its super loud. Now download it and then listen to it again in the menu where you select which ringtone you want to use. The sound is much lower.

I've tried this, and the best solution I've come up with is making my own custom ringtones, the ringtones on iTunes are not sufficiently loud.

Yes you make them louder from doing this.

In iTunes go to your favourite ringtones and right click on it and there is a option to make it louder then re sync it to your iPhone. Should make it louder!!
