With the advent of MacOS 10.15 & IOS 13 how does one create & install a custom ringtone on an iPhone 7+? I don't claim to be an IOS/MacOS guru so I'm looking for some guidance here...actually the ringtones I do have installed were always a kind of "hey...it worked" kind of an event.

Has anybody tried to create a ringtone in Music & then get it installed & running on an iPhone?

Thanks in advance...billgr0248

For assorted reasons I'm not ready to take a laptop that has my main iTunes library and some custom ringtone files on it to Catalina, and couldn't connect my iPhone that runs iOS13.x to iTunes 12.9 running on Mojave, so I was having trouble with not only ringtones but just refreshing the phone from iTunes regarding music I'd ripped from my CDs...

...because Apple, duh. Sometimes for all my love of their ecosystem and their general respect software-wise for older hardware, they make me crazy with the permissible software relationships, especially those among an OS, an iOS and assorted versions of iTunes/Music app. I get where there can be points where they just say nah, you need to bump it up, but I'm spoiled by their catering to older gear so I go nuts when my phone which tends to be newer, doesn't want to talk to the older OS or some version of music/iTunes on my laptops.

I had finally bought one ringtone from the Apple store right onto my phone just to see where it landed, and so to make a category appear on the content listing for the phone when I connected it via USB to iMazing on the laptop. Then I used iMazing to get the transfer of my custom ringtone files done, worked like a charm. And, I can also finally refresh music files on that phone from the laptop, which I hadn't done since some earlier version of iTunes on Mojave.
