My lovely MacBook Pro's screen has broken, just in time for mid terms so as I'm typing this, I'm glaring at a dinosaur of a monitor which I'm sure is giving me some type of cancer. Anyways, the screen has that typical characteristic of a "digital crack" right down the centre, as for the conditions which this happened, let's not even talk about it... not malicious but certainly my fault. Has anyone experienced this and talked to apple support about it and ...greased the wheels to getting it fixed ...for free? I'd appreciate any method or advise on how to approach this issue with apple. I love apple and will continue to use their products for everything from video editing to sound recording to rendering ... again, any advise would be appreciated.

So you damaged your computer. It's your fault and you want Apple to fix it for free?
Good luck with that!!! Keep us posted.

Are you terribly bored?

I've presented a question and asked for help. I'm not looking for a rap on the knuckles.

Let me guess, you either dropped it, or tripped over a cable (not the MagSafe connector) and ripped the cable out.

I hope you have AppleCare, because I don't think that any Apple support employees are gonna believe that "digital crack" was originally there.

A friend of mine had something similiar happen to her, and Apple told her it would cost her about a thousand dollars to get it repaired. Not sure if she had AppleCare though.

I do indeed have applecare and am basically just looking for advice on the best way to approach apple if I'm to experience any leniency at all.
