I have a question, Does anyone know how to input the movie rating into I-Tunes, (IE G, PG, R etc). When I purchase a movie from I-Tunes it knows the Rating among other things. When rip a DVD to my ITunes library I cannot find the screen to input the Rating. I would like to include this if I could figure out how to input it.

Also on a similar note I have tried to put a synopsis into the description field but it does not show, Does anyone know how to input this information?

Thank you

Also Subler is a great app for editing advanced metadata.

Are there any major differences between MetaX, Subler and identify? I've been using MetaX and have been happy with it, but perhaps I don't know what I've been missing with the others.

small comparison

I like the lean efficiency of Subler, but hate the search function utilized to find the majority of data. My setting always seems to revert to shows when I mainly search for movies, and the spelling has to be perfect (no underscores, no year, so S2E5, etc.) The search function will come up with nothing if the title and category entered isn't pristine--which largely precludes just dragging and dropping the ripped file. I do like that upon save, only the metadata is added to the original file.

As for iDentify2, it seems superior in every way, except it recopies the entire movie with metadata added, an annoying 45 second wait when I'm ready for the next step in my movie watching experience.

Ok, not much, but it's all I have.

I don't tend to use the search functions because I really like to make sure I have the info I want where I want it. I therefore tend to use Subler almost exclusively. It is a fairly lightweight program and, as noisycats pointed out, Subler only saves the metadata. Having used Subler for a while, everything else feels a bit bloated, but they all are good options.

I use iFlicks for all metadata input.. Cant recommend it highly enough. Just make sure you choose the 'Flatten to Quicktime' setting otherwise your actually re-ripping the file.
