Hello,

I finally got around to ripping DVDs that I own into iTunes and went to use handbrake and I am not sure it's compatible with the latest operating system. can anyone verify that it won't work?

Thanks!

as far as I know, handbrake does not support Mac 10.10. anyway you can go to the official website of Handbrake to check. Good luck!

I just loaded mine, it then updated, seems to work fine - I haven't got a disk to hand to give it but the UI works as normal.

Mine was working fine in Yosemite prior to the latest Handbrake update. I had a queue of 30 Blu Ray (mkv) when the latest update for Handbrake was dropped and they all went well.

Just updated and aside from UI changes I'm not noticing too much. However picture size can be edited with type now!

No longer true, the latest version, released only a few days ago, Handbrake supports Yosemite!

For me it was working prior to its latest update on Yosemite. Where in your link does it say its now supported (vs not being supported before)?

Any place but here or there....
Thanks for the thread.

I'm waiting to hear from Aimersoft to see if their dvd ripper is compatible with Yosemite. I am not at home to double check this but apparently a film I tried to rip last night was not working iOS 8.

I never got the hang of Handbrake but might look into it again since I cannot put $ for another dvd ripper.

Frankly, Handbrake really does a good job in ripping DVDs. The only catch is that its parameter setting seems to be complicated, the new users may get confused frequently. Besides Handbrake, there are some other free DVD rippers available for download, like MacX DVD Ripper Free Edition. It is compatible with Yosemite and can rip DVD to any format. If you have problem about Handbrake, you can give this app a try.
sure, this is just my personal opinion, you can do a google search and choose other one you like more. :p

Thanks for the response, I managed to get the Amersoft dvd ripper working with Yosemite and the latest iTunes. And yes those parameter settings are exactly what trip me up.

And I've already done an extensive google search but again, thanks for the input.

Glad to know that you have found a free dvd ripper working for you. Enjoy it :)
