Hello everybody,

Tonight, I was training (in France) and it looks like Apple introduced a new bug on watchOS.

Apparently, when you receive the notification of the "Ring in the New Year Challenge" while training, it completed the challenge too, even if we are still in 2017 ;-)

So I have a new badge, more than a week early…

I posted in that as well. Apple now wants me to unpair my watches and then repair them. I am done. I am not going through all that just to see if the achievement goes away. Apple has a bug here and people are reporting they got the achievement on every site I go on.

I’m not complaining about getting mine early. I have been cheated out of a few so I’m happy with my early badge. I will still close my rings.

I got mine too (but no date shows on the back of the badge). I’d get it in January anyway so I’m not too bothered about getting it early (though I still mind a bit about not getting my October challenge badge). It’s a bit of a screw up though.

I just noticed it this morning as I was going to check my mileage to date for December. I’m at 137 and change. Need 147.2 to get the badge. Easy-peasy for a challenge I thought was likely impossible when I frost saw it.

I tried to unpair both my S0 and S2 watch and restarted my iPhone. After repairing my S2 watch, nothing changed.

Apple engineers are off this week. Look for the same badge to show up again as incomplete or an update to remove the completed status. This happened for the first Thanksgiving 5K.

Still no fix for this. I have now also now done the challenge, but since it was unlocked I got no date on the medal.

I don’t think so. I got mine in December with no date on it, and that’s the way it stayed.

I had contacted Apple Support about this on twitter, waited the 9 days to confirm it wasn't showing, and then got in contact again. They just called me, and the escalated support team has forwarded it to the engineers to look at.

Just checked the award I got - and no date on the back. One thing that has annoyed me more is that although I've got all three rings closed for every day in December, I didn't get the December award. Not very motivating. I think I'll just not bother looking at the achievements anymore. You don't do the challenge, you get the award, you do the challenge, you don't get the award.
