I've found about a billion google results on how to use the rock band drums for musical typing in garageband, and thats great, or at least it would be, if i had rock band.

I have rock band 2 and there seems to be a huge difference. In rock band one, you'd hit (for example) the red pad and gamepad companion would see it as "button #2" where as with the rock band two controller, it recognizes it as "Y-axis" and thus wont let you choose "single key"

I know theres a way to get this to work, i just dont know what it is... if anyone can help me it would be awesome :)

You need to use junxion and the wireless gaming receiver. As soon as I get my wireless receiver, I will document it and post it up somewhere.

RB2 uses velocity sensitivity, and all the drums are axis, so you connect the drums. Open junxion. Scroll to the drum set. Depending on whether you have 1.3 or 1.4 you have to do the setup differently, but it involves changing the action to a note event for each drum, and then setting the note to a specific midi key (43 is bass I believe, you can generally find your way off of that), and setting the velocity to the value.

I'm surprised this can't be found anywhere, as it seems pretty straightforward, and almost the same as RB1. *Nice* set of really cheap velocity sensitive electronic drums;).

garageband pink floyd

hello, I am a starter at garageband and it is really fun composing musical creations, though I do not know anything about drums... I am making this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ioavsW0tgI and I have searched all of the possible drum kits but I haven't found anything that is close to the simple drums of "high hopes - division bell" If anyone could tell me any drum kit that is similar to (the link) from 2:49-3:40 and from 4:19 - the end? your advice would really help me, thanks!

Anyone got this to work yet with the Rock Band 2 drums? Also, is there a way to get the Ion Drum Rocker drum set to work with a Mac?

The velocity sensitivity is very hard to get barely working. When I finally got velocity sensitive drums, it was so impractical I switched back. It does work though. The same way as RB1. Any of the RB1 methods will still work.
