Canadian cellco Rogers has announced that it has completed the national rollout of its 3.5G HSDPA mobile network, which now covers around 75% of the population including the country's 25 largest markets, and provides maximum (theoretical) download speeds of 7.2Mbps for handset and computer users. According to TeleGeographys GlobalComms database, Rogers launched commercial HSDPA services with maximum download speeds of 3.6Mbps in November 2006, and by December 2007 the 3.5G network covered a total of 28 cities and approximately 60% of the population.
yes, at&t is terrible
Rogers also let me upgrade to the GS after only being on one year.
$199.00 Canadian with a $50 rebate from apple. (But have not seen that promised form yet)
PLUS my contract was extended another year, so now it is back to two years left on it.
I admit 3.1 Mbps is impressive, I often see speeds here in FL in the 2.2 range, as high as 2.33, obviously not as good as Rogers, but not so bad really, plus if I'm not mistaken, isn't Rogers using the upgraded 7.2 network, while AT&T is not quite there?
You only had to pay $199 and the add the year you've already used up? Man, that's a pretty great deal.
I assume you sold your 3G and made up the difference?
I'm okay with my speed on AT&T. They are definitely inconsistent though, from one place to another.
