I posting this in hoping that it will help somebody else.

Last week I updated my iphone 6 plus to ios 8.1.1. I have also updated several apps since then. Since last week my battery life has been absolutely terrible. I was thinking it was 8.1.1.

I noticed that my battery usage & standby usage where exactly that same. This should not be the case as my phone was off most of the time. My "home & lockscreen" usage was extremely high which was very strange.

I then focused on the possibility of an app that recently updated and maybe has a rogue process running. I then turned off "Background Apps Refresh". Once that was off and I did a full charge my "usage & standby" times were once again different. :D

Until I figure out which app is sucking the juice I'm keeping Background Apps Refresh completely off.

Look at your battery usage to see what's using the battery.

Settings -> General -> Usage -> Battery Usage.

If nothing stands out try a restore.

If no joy seek assistance via an Apple Genius Bar Appointment

Inn my case I found that the battery draining app is Voxer. I have contacted the developer and informed them of the issue. In the meantime I deleted Voxer.

I'm now getting 11 hours usage and 49 hours standby. ☺

Just to be clear. Voxer was draining my battery once it sent/ received a message. Even if it was removed from the background. Hence the rogue process

Btw. The rogue process was not identified to the app on the battery usage list. Even tho the process came from voxer it didn't show voxer as the main. But it was.
