Hey Gang,

This is LordGek here getting the word out on Rogue Touch for the iphone (currently on sale for $0.99 for a limited time only).

Rogue Touch is Chronosoft’s reworking of the all time classic game of Rogue (the Grand Daddy "Roguelike" that Nethack, Moria, Angband, Shiren, and even Diablo all hailed from) for the iphone. While it is technically best described as an RPG (I mean it is in a dungeon fighting fantasy creatures), it might better be seen as some strange turn based old school RPG/Strategy/Puzzle game hybrid. There is no real story or even any other NPCs to interact with, this is simply a matter of you hacking and slashing your way through the randomly generated dungeon to retrieve the Amulet of Yendor. It’s all about killing beasties to gain experience and making the best out of whatever random loot you can find. If it didn’t already sound challenging enough realize that travel in this dungeon is one way (you can only go down the stairs), food is in limited supply, and once you die you have to start the game all over from scratch (there is no going back to a previous save after that character dies). This game slaps you hard, but, once you really give it a go, you’ll find yourself compelled to return again and again.

Are you up to the challenge?

Some major features:
* Randomly generated dungeons
* 26+ Monster types to battle
* Almost 100 different types of equipment and magical items
* Secret Characters to play, each with special abilities :)
* Online Leaderboards (see them at http://bestrogues.chronosoft.com/)
* Regular updates and active community!

See our iTunes description or website for more info.

P.S. I know there are other Rogue Touch junkies lurking out there, perhaps you guys can do a better job of pimping this game/way of life than I'm doing here.

Hey B Master,

What has you so hooked with this game? Were you already a fan of the whole roguelike genre?

No I wasn't already a fan

Hey B Master,

So I don't have any nostalgia or anything like that, but I really like the game because: Great controls, I love the idea of potions and scrolls that you have no idea what they do, just the general feeling of being in "the dungeons of doom".

So bottom-line, I like the game because it's a great game that's entirely unique!
