Here's the setup.

Mac Pro + 8800GT + 10.5.2 + the whole nine yards (see sig).

Picked up RollerCoaster Tycoon 3... and am greeted with the "I hate you have a Mac Pro message...."

rt3error.jpg

I have the 1.2 Rev A version which is what came with the new DVD I bought (which is in pristine condition). I searched the forums and found nothing... maybe i missed something very obvious?

RCT3 for Windows was incredibly buggy when it was first released, it's apparently the same for OS X. Sorry I can't help, I bought the Windows version and run it under BootCamp.

The Mac version hates me too. Unless there has been an update the graphics were really messed up on my iMac. It seems Aspyr doesn't support my card for now.

After the graphics update a lot of my games stopped working and I got that message.

I simply got it working by:
*Backing up save data files
*Reinstall the game & install patch updates

Problem is... this is a fresh install. Just dragged the folder to my Apps folder. Also, the patch is for 1.2 Rev A... that's the version straight off the DVD... so no need to apply it (even though i did it once anyway and still nothing).

La di da.

I just gave them a full system profile of my MP 2.8 Octo, with UPS, and this is what they told me...

Hello,

From the looks of things you are running a very sophisticated system that you backup often. Make sure you have disabled your startup programs such as Qmaster services and PowerChute Personal Edition daemon. Also make sure all of your auto-update services are disabled. You will also need to make sure none of your backup software is set to monitor computer activities. Also any program that emulates a DVD drive will need to be completely shut down with the extension files removed or uninstalled.

Have a nice day,
