Got & played Rise of Nations heavily in late summer/fall 2005, and everything was very fluid on my eMac 1.42/1GB RAM/64MB Radeon 9600, under 10.4.2/3/4 (or whatever latest release was out then).
Now am going through it again, and on a fairly simple New World campaign, on the first round, things are getting very graphically bogged down when even 2 medium-sized armies meet.
I'm wondering if this is due to some changes in 10.4.10 and/or Quicktime. RoN would crash outright with QT 7.1 (I think) & required a patch. But maybe some other things in that or later releases degraded the quality.
Has anyone else had a similar experience - RoN ran fine under an earlier version of Tiger, but now is slow & boggy?
