Room Escape, the newest app from 1026 Development is coming soon to the App Store. It is an escape the room type game. You are locked in an office and have to solve the puzzle to find your way out. A teaser video can be seen on YouTube.

Looks good, but I hope the limited-to-no replayability of something like this will be taken into account with the pricing. I certainly wouldn't pay more than $1-$1.50 for something that I'll probably play once and never touch again because I know the solution.

The replayablity has been taking into account. Currently we are deciding wether this app will be Free or 99¢. We have plans for future rooms, so going free seems like the way to go right now. We are planning on doing a multi-room pack down the road for 99¢, off of the engine we created.

Sounds pretty good!

I agree at first it should be free than the level pack should be a buck!

Why all the 1 and 2 star reviews because you can't escape?! That's kind of the point of the game. I understand the ones that are having problems with the controls...but not the ones that are complaining because its too hard.

I beta tested this game about a month ago and loved it.
It offers a great challenge and is pretty fun.

It's free as well...a steal in my mind

Folks, if any of you figured out how to escape please DO NOT put the solution in the review. I don't want the game to be ruined for future downloaders. If you've already put spoilers in your review I ask that you edit it to remove or do your best to warn of upcoming spoilers. Thank you. With over 5000 downloads in its first day, it seems to be a very popular app and I'd like to keep it popular after the first wave of escapees.

This is the worst app I have ever downloaded. The controls are totally unresponsive. Most of the time when you swipe to move the view, nothing happens. I'm using an iPhone 3G, 16 GB, 3.0. I tried a reset after downloading.

For best results when swiping, be sure to swipe as parallel to the edges of the screen as possible. Tolerance for swiping is 25px off kilter will result in a canceled swipe. So if you start the swipe in the bottom left corner of the screen, you have to end no more then 25 pixels up. Also, start your swipes closer to the middle of the screen (width wise.)

Thanks for the feedback, I will look into making the swipes more user friendly, while not having horizontal swipes getting confused with vertical swipes and vise versa.
