Dumb newb questions - I did search, but maybe I missed something.

If Rosetta 2 is installed on a M1 (I have a mini and haven't had a need to do so yet) does it take up a lot of space on the hd? Or is it already installed by default (I saw something about it in sys info apps or something even though I haven't had to use it yet).

Can it be removed (I read somewhere that once installed, it's there unless you wipe the drive and reinstall OS)?

I have a base M1 mini and while I don't need to use Rosetta 2 at the moment, I don't want something wasting space that can't be removed, in the event I do need to use it.

Unless you have a 16GB hard drive, there should be any issue; however, since you recently bought your Mac, you should ask Apple support.

I don't think it takes up any significant space. Should be a very small file.

The Rosetta2 engine is very small. Your app cache of Intel apps take some space, but remember that often most of the app size is in resources, not code.

It takes one second to install, so it's clearly quite small -- a negligible amount of space. I'm not aware that it can be removed, but there's no need. Your browser cache for a day takes up more space.
