Years ago with the iPhone 8 Plus or earlier someone showed me a feature where the iPhone could switch to landscape mode on its side. My iPhone 15 plus cannot do this except in Safari. Can the pro models?

Darn…

The ability to rotate the iPhone's home screen into landscape mode was introduced with the iPhone 6 Plus in 2014. This feature was especially useful for using the phone in the car for navigation, as it prevented the phone from switching between portrait and landscape mode. However, some say that this feature is no longer available on newer iPhones due to their notches.

The only phone that I’ve had that could rotate the Home Screen was my iPhone 6Plus on iOS 9. It no longer does it on iOS 12. My iPhone 6S Plus doesn’t rotate either on iOS 15.
So home screen rotation has been dead for about 8 years.
The notch didn’t kill it specifically,  just didn’t want to do it anymore.
