Rotating Time Machine menu bar icon

Hi all,

I have Time Machine enabled on my Mac and hourly backups are made as per usual.

On the menu bar, the Time Machine icon used to rotate whenever a backup was being made. It doesn't do this anymore. Can anyone explain why, or how to reinstate the rotating Time Machine menu bar icon?

I have attached a screenshot of the icon to which I am referring.

that's the new icon, and it no longer rotates. you'd have to find an much older OS, disable SIP, replace the icon... and hope that the code to 'animate' it is still there. the easier, saner thing to do is... adapt.

Yep, that changed in Mavericks over 3 years ago. The new normal.
