Router setting affect wifi sync?

Ever since iOS 5 I have been having plenty of trouble with Wifi Sync between my iPhone 4S, iPad(3rdgen), and my windows 7 machine.

All are running the absolute latest versions and have had this problem persisting across numerous restores, reformats, etc etc...

I am starting to wonder if this is a problem with bonjour or my router.

Regularly I will walk to my computer and find a LARGE stack of iTunes errors, all pertaining to iPhone/iPad sync fails.

are there some settings I need to adjust?

There are a lot of random cases where it turns out the router was the issue. I have a 2Wire through AT&T Uverse, and had to buy an Airpot Extreme because 2Wire does not support Apple products very well.

Same issues here on Windows 7 x64. I've been looking at these threads and the thing they all have in common is Windows. I was hopeful iTunes 10.6 and iOS 5.1 would work but nope. I've given up on using wifi sync for now. Also, I'm using a Time Capsule.

Duh, after all these months I just realized I should have the wifey enable it on her MacBook / iPhone 4s and see how well it works. I'll do that and post back.

Would help to post details on the errors. Without knowing the details it could be anything.

So since my last post I have rebooted my windows 7 PC and all iOS devices. After rebooting wifi syncing worked normally for around 12-24 hours, the PC and iTunes running the entire time. I have since returned to my PC and found the following errors.

iTunes could not connect to this iphone because an unknown error occurred (0xE800007F)

The iPad "Nathan's iPad" could not be synced because the iPad could not be found on the network

An iPad has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. PLease disconnect and reconnect the iPad, then try again.

that last error appeared 38 times. after clicking OK on all 38 errors I can then use iTunes again and both iOS devices appear in iTunes. However one or both will fail to sync over Wifi and will have the triangle ! symbol next to the device name in iTunes under devices or the device name will disappear from the device list in iTunes to later reappear.

This is a very common. I leave this PC running 24/7 with iTunes open so I can sync my podcasts before work.

The iPhone 4S wifi sync seems to have the most trouble, but neither are functioning properly.
