anyone know any games? :)
i'd like to be able to run it smoothly on my 15inch 2.53 Ghz 4gb ram 330M 256 ram.

There are lots of RPGs that let you pick a female character... KOTOR is the first that came to mind, though there are many others.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. It is a PC game but works perfectly in Crossover and is really great fun. Neverwinter Nights 2 allows you to play as a female and so does Diablo II, both these are Mac native.

KOTOR, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Morrowind have customisable characters. Is Mass Effect on PC? If so add that to the list!

I think every RPG with character choice allows gender choice. I'm trying to remember one game I played where you were the character, male and had no choice. What was that, I think it was RPG.

Pretty much any Japanese or Korean RPG game, thanks to gender ambiguity. I cannot honestly tell the difference between some male and female characters models.

For trivias sake, "Phantasy Star" on the Sega Master System was one of the very first games with a strong story and a female main character.

Excellent old school RPG, fantastic graphics and lovely music for it's age.

thanks guys. i'm looking into a gift for my gf, who happens to be a huge gamer. she was telling me how she hates how sexist the gaming industry is, so i'm looking to appease her. i'm looking into the suggestions posted!

Although not really an RPG, but along the same lines, the Metroid series (from the original Nintendo through the Wii) features a strong female lead. I believe the OPs Mac has the oomph to emulate every Nintendo through a Game Cube. ;)

make sure thats what she means by being sexist.

I think the game industry is pretty sexist too, and its nothing to do with male or female characters as lead roles.

I second this. Just because she wants to play as a female doesn't mean she wants to run around with her toon's breasts the same size as its head.

Or she could be talking about the lack of female developers and employees in the industry and how the it targets males even though females make up a significant portion of the gaming community.

There is always Tomb Raider games...

If you are talking consoles as well I would say the Metroid games have a female lead character.

Final Fantasy games are also a good bet for mixed gender gaming. As someone said a lot of Japanese games have a strong female lead character.

No kidding. Just like I can't seem to purchase a decent video card without a picture of some underage looking elfmaiden with a huge rack on the side of it. It's friggin' ridiculous.
