Hi,

I'm going to NYC in late june, and I'm thinking about buying an iPad.
However, is it possible to pay partially cash and partially with credit card?
I'd pay about 400 USD cash, and the rest with my visa card.
Would this be possible?

*EDIT*: I'm going end june. When should I use that online form to reserve one? Seems they only keep it available for 48h, so when should I reserve it?:s . A friend said his reservation was already completed after 1 day, so should I reserve it the day before I take off to NYC?

Yes, you can buy an iPad with cash and credit card. Since Apple changed the policy to be able to use cash, it won't be a problem. I'm not 100%, but you probably won't have to have the iPad set up in store either, since you are using a credit card for some of it.

As to your other question- the answer is pretty hard to say. How long will you be in NYC? A few days? I would reserve a few days before you leave. A week? A day or two before you leave. More than a week? The day before you leave. Also, you do not have 48 hours to pick up the iPad. The reservation is 24 hours- no more. And, from what I understand, Apple is strict on the 24 hour period, may differ by store, who knows.

Again, the answer as to when you should reserve is tough. Because that will be end of June, so demand might substantially lessen by that time, but it might not. Also, which NYC store waiting list you put yourself on might have different wait times. And also the length of time you will be in NYC. Plan accordingly. If you will be there for a week or so, no problem ordering 1-3 days before you leave.

And on a side note, are you sure you will be able to reserve in-store online? I believe an Apple employee must reserve for you in-store. I wasn't aware you could do it yourself from their website. Could be wrong about this, as I have not had to reserve an iPad, but I would make sure you are 100% sure about this.

Thanks for your reply.
I got this link from a friend:
http://reserve.apple.com/WebObjects...serveProduct?lang=en&country=US&prelaunch=ALL

However, the second page( where you pick the ipad) doesn't load for me. It does load for some other users, so I'll have to use their computer to do it.
I'll arrive the 22nd and leave the 28th.
It doesn't really matter for me which store I can pick up the iPad, it's indeed tought to decide when to reserve it. Even the accessoires will be hard to buy? Online store says 3-4 weeks.
But I want to be quite sure I'm able to buy one. I need the wifi model btw:)
