Hello,

I just restarted my iMac 21.5 inches and when it finished restarting, I had a weird popup message that I never had before. It asked me to Allow or Deny the access of rsmac_3698 (not sure of the last 4 digits though). I clicked Deny since I never got this notification before.

What could it be? I'm very worried. I'm worried I have a virus or something.

Thanks in advance.

Can someone please help me with this?

Thank you so much!

it would probably help if you knew for sure what the digits were. did you try google?

Have you installed any apps lately? Could be an app trying to connect. Do you have your firewall turned on? If not, do it now

I had the same thing happen. It's from Adobe's CS5 trial package.

Did you install that as well?

I think the 'RS' stands for 'redswoosh' which is a p2p company Akamai bought a few years ago. The rsmac process is traced back to applications/akamai/rsmac_3696 (that's my number for some reason).

Anyway, I'm test driving it to see if it's worth the upgrade from CS4 and then it litters my system with all sorts of directories and resources.

WTF, Adobe? WTF?
