Anyone know of a rubber bumper/sleeve/shell that can be worn on the Apple watch so that I can wear it while playing competitive/contact sports without worrying about cracking my competitor in the head?

I used to wear my Fitbit Charge while playing soccer (made of soft rubber) and there was never any issue playing with it, but there definitely would be with wearing a Apple Watch.

I'm looking for something like this, but soft rubber instead of hard plastic.

It is soft rubber. I had it and returned it to get the tough armor since I wanted the orange look.
FYI
the tough armor has a built-in screen protector, which renders the touch gesture on the screen useless.

What do you mean exactly? Screen protectors on smart phones don't take away your ability to use the touch screen, otherwise no one would buy them.

For what it's worth, I've found the perfect solution!

Even with some sort of a rubber bumper that is made to fit the watch, most referees will ask players to remove the watch if they see one... But this wristband solution perfectly conceals the watch and allows it to do its activity tracking Mojo during the game, eliminates any chance that the referee will ask you to remove it (because it doesn't look like you're wearing a watch), and it protects your opponents and getting a split eye if you inadvertently bop them.

thats actually a brilliant and creative idea. I wore mine few days ago at a small flag football tournamrent and the ref asked me to take it off. this would work perfectly.

Make sure you get the "Doublewide Wristbands" I linked to, because the standard wristband (which I also bought, then returned) isn't quite wide enough to fully wrap around the watch.

Glad someone else also found this trick useful!

I also just picked up some underarmour wrist sweat bands. They are between the nike short and long bands so it is perfect for hugging the watch while playing sports and you don't have to cover half your arm. I bought mine for when I am long boarding. Pop it on right before I go out for a short session and take it off when I get back in. perfect.

Can you provide a link to Amazon.com for the specific wristbands you're talking about? Thanks!
