Rules on Apple Mail

I am using Mail with Exchange and ever since I upgraded to Yosemite my email rules are only get applied sporadically (sometimes they do, sometimes they dont, sometimes they apply to only part of my inbox). Does anyone else see this issue and / or knows of any workaround? I have submitted a feedback about this issue since day one with the hope that it will get fixed, but no change so far.

You should be using rules on the server side on Exchange.

You should be using rules on the server side on Exchange.

I tried to do this in WebMail but the rules options are very limited. It used to work fine in Mavericks by the way.
