Apple isn't THAT proud or stupid to remove features from the iPhone just to flip off Google.
If they do switch, which wouldn't shock me necessarily, it will have the equal amount if not more features. Hopefully turn by turn too ...

This will be a front page story soon, but I called it. I said Maps will the biggest feature in ios 6. It's long overdue for a revamp.

i wouldn't mind a fancy new Maps app but i seriously hope it's not the "main" new feature of iOS 6 (there are plenty of things they need to update/add.)
but from the what I've seen this looks nice.
I feel the same way. The article ends by saying "those expecting major home screen changes or Android-like widgets might be disappointed *briefly, anyway." Obivously they're suggesting they know more about iOS 6 than we do. I'm hoping that they're implying there'll be other impressive new features added, and not just a new mapping system.
