In keeping with MR's new policy of linking any and all Intel related rumors or prototype systems as having any possible link to future Apple rumored products...out of my butt 'anal-ystic' rumormongering of page 1 "notoriety" (just like Lindsay ;) ). I give you the Dell version of the soon to be announced LED backlit 12in MBP...woohoo, to be seen at WWDC!
Man, the new MBP 12in will blow the pokey slow MB 13.3 & MBP 15&17in away, bigtime with finally parity with the PC competition, when it debuts at WWDC in June ahead of Dell version. Wicked, the 1st Apple laptop with LED, and Santa Rosa & 2.4Ghz Merom, and gamer level 8400M GPU. It's about time Apple...you heard it 1st here on MR (now all the other 'anal-ysts' and Apple employee's reading MR on their pre-release iPhones can spread the word...err rumor, lol).

1. Thinner than the ultra-thin MB, check.

2. LED backlit ultra-thin, brighter, higher color accuracy 12in. screen, check.

3. <4lbs, check.

4. slot loading BR burner, check. (Apple 1st)

5. 8400 mobile GPU, check

6. T7600 Intel Merom 2.4Ghz CPU, check.

7. Another Apple 1st, optional highest performance & capacity in it's class, Samsung 64GB flash NAND drive. 67MB/s Read/45MB/s Writes, 7,000 IOPS faster than any HDD tech, and useless less power for longer battery life.

the most wicked MBP yet, all former PB G4 12inchers rejoice!

Rumor: Dell's XPS M1210 Getting Santa Rosa on June 26

"Fans of Dell's M1210 (the fighting 12-incher) will be interested in this update to their gaming/business notebook. Our tipster tells us that Dell will put in the old Santa Rosa-style upgrade that we've been seeing all over the place lately, which gives the little guy a bit of a boost in performance to keep it up to date with other laptop lines.

In other non-CPU news, the M1210 update will have a 8400M DX10 graphics card, LED backlighting, slot-loading DVD drive, and be 4 pounds and smaller/thinner than the previous M1210. The tipster got his or her hands on it recently and says it's great, but it's going to be very pricey. – Jason Chen

Thanks tipster!"

isent that an upgrade to a dell? not an apple? im confusd

I think he was starting the rumor that, because Dell is about to produce a small laptop, we can expect to see one from Apple at WWDC to compete with it.

Either that, or he was quoting the spec list of the Dell and sarcastically claiming that they're the specs that Apple should have produced for the small MBP.

Either way, yes, its confusing.

Well, the M1210 has been around for a while now. It's just in line to get a bump in specs. Fairly solid laptop, although the design certainly is lacking in comparison to offerings on the Apple side of town.

Are you trying to live up to your name? :p

This is based on nothing. Actually, it's based on a rumoured Dell laptop, which hasn't been announced yet. Basicaily, this is a wish-list, not a rumour, right?

If the rumor about the Dell is true and MBP come out w/o DX10 card I will get the Dell and toss my MacBook.

If Apple did release a 12/13 inch MBP i would sell my iBook and buy one. I am going to America in July through August and i would pick one up from the Apple store in the US and take advantage of the strong pound and pick up a good deal.

If they don't bring one out i will just keep onto my iBook. The smaller factor MBP would be the only thing from their line up that would really appeal to me.
