Can’t seem to find much with Google. Has there been floating rumors of camera changes to the mini. The ONLY drawback for me has been lack of 2x lens. As much as I liked the 11 pro I don’t think I can go back. Charge me a premium but an iPhone 13 mini pro would be everything I could want. I’m even rocking it caseless. So much better.

The proposed 13 Mini‘s wide angle camera is rumoured to have the same sensor shift lens from the 12 Pro Max, albeit probably on the same size sensor as the 12 mini, not the larger one from the 12 PM.

What does that really do? Make it better for low light or something? Doesn’t sound like much.

Well like on the Canon and Nikon Image Stabilised lens, the sensor actually moves about to keep the best focus on the subject in frame, so results in sharper images overall. Very useful when taking pics of your kids running around, sports games, birds flying etc. Those days of blurry smartphone images may now be a thing of the past.

It wont really improve low light photography per se, Apple have their night mode which works well using software, but to really improve low light images on a hardware level you need larger lenses which let in more light, and with smartphones there is a upper limit to how large they can get If this makes sense.
