Rumours of 12" this year - RIP?

Given that Apple and Walmat have struck a deal to sell the M1 Air at $699, makes you wonder IF Apple are to introduce a 12" how would they price it and put it in their product line

$1200. Sell it as a premium executive professional product, not as a low cost entry level product. Although I’m still doubtful it will come to fruition.

Would buy it in a heartbeat as second MacBook for on the road. Loved the lightest smallest 12" MacBook so much.
