Hi,

I have been trying to run apps like Plex or Epic Seven on background (hidden), but when i hide the window where they are running the app seems to be paused until i open the window again. Any way to fix this ?

Best Regards

What you are seeing is how it is supposed to work. Apps in the background are in a state of suspended animation (so to speak) and start functioning again when brought forward and engaged again.
So even if i want to leave an app running on the background thats not an option ?

That's up to the app developer. I guess they choose to pause them when in background.

• How are you hiding the window?
— Clicking the window close button?
— Using the Hide command?
== app menu -> Hide [app_name] (e.g., Safari -> Hide Safari)
== keyboard shortcut: Command H
• What makes you think the app is paused?

I haven’t seen such behavior often on macOS, typical on mobile (e.g., iOS) though. Some apps do indeed behave that way, but so few I can’t even recall one I’ve seen or read about.

Admittedly, I haven’t used the software mentioned. They could be part of the minority of apps implementing the pause when out of focus action.
