Is it possible to run auxo and cardswitcher at the same time? Is there a way to activate one a different way? I like auxo's toggles but I would prefer the way cardswitcher shows only the current running apps.

Yes you can use Auxo and Cardswitcher at the same time by either using zephyr (just a suggestion I heard). Or what I did was just created an option in activator for "anywhere" and swiping up from the bottom (Screen Bottom) under "slide in gesture" to invoke the native Switcher. That will allow you to double press the home button to activate Cardswitcher and a swipe up from the bottom to activate Auxo (or the iOS switcher). This way mimics the way iOS7 does it with it's control center swiping up from the bottom.
