I want to run a iPad app but on my MacBook. Its called story boost and there isn't a osx version. Help.

I don't want an iPad in the equation just to use a specific iPad app but on my Mac.

Will need to contact the developer to see if they plan to either bring it to Mac or a web version. You can of course mirror the iPad but doesn't solve your problem.

MacOS requires applications made for it. I don’t think you’ll get this to work.

You could try using Duet Display to mirror your iPad to your MacBook.

Oh, are you saying they recently changed their business model and threw the old app away and made a new one to extend the screen of an iPad?

As far as I can tell it’s business as usual on their end and the app makes an iPad into a second monitor for a Mac.

Project Catalyst gives developers the ability to have their apps running on both iOS and MacOS in a relatively short time. The developer of your app may have plans to do this.
